Aissatou Sabara Headshot.

Aissatou Ndella Sabara was born and raised in Canton, Ga. However, her family is from Senegal, in West Africa. Aissatou attended the University of Georgia for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She holds her Undergraduate in International Affairs with a minor in Criminal Justice; and her Master’s in Public Administration and Policy.

In her free time, she is an avid reader. Aissatou enjoys spending time reading, with friends and family, and in the gym. She is very passionate about human rights, public service, civil liberties, social justice and international policy. She acknowledges that it’s a privilege to have the life and environment that she currently does and not everyone has that luxury. As a result, she holds a lot of responsibility to advocate for those who don’t have the opportunity to do some themselves.

As Executive Director of the Economic Justice Coalition, she hopes to expand EJC’s outreach and goals in the upcoming years. She believes the organization has a foundation built from dedication and pure belief behind its mission. She wants to uphold and spread these values. Her goals in life include a career that allows her to help people while advocating for what she truly believes  in. She wants to continue to dedicate her career to public service in any way she can.  She’d even love to start a foundation or nonprofit of her own dedicated to advocating for those suffering from human rights violations, one day.

If you could give your younger self (or anyone) career advice, what would it be?

“Just because things aren’t going the way you’ve anticipated or planned for doesn’t mean you should give up. Always put your best foot forward because you never know just how much you could accomplish at the end of the day. Also remember to be kind and patient with yourself, this may be easier said than done, but it makes all the difference in the world.”
